Mulan Movie Review
I saw the 'Mulan' of 2020 as a huge Disney fan. Recent live-action offerings are very mixed, and while not as good as the original, many animated movies are a good example of the right animation. Seeing the title, ad, and performance of Disney, it is easy to imagine that this is one of the most repetitive live action acts and it is easy to wonder why it was criticized as one. Part of me was very happy to be a fan of the 1998 film, but at the same time I was concerned about seeing the hatred directed at the movie and its main character.
When I saw ‘Mulan’, it really didn’t seem like a live act to me, and there isn’t much Disney in sight. Except for the title and references that refer to the 1998 movie effect included in this movie. Instead, it impressed me as a different version of the character and his story, and it was also very sensitive and unfit for the family, so direct comparisons of the two films did not suit me. While the disappointment expressed was understandable, 'Mulan' was not so bad and unworthy, as he had serious flaws to be found and certainly had no appeal, heart, and joy like the 1998 film. From excessive response even before it is released. Because Yifei Liu's personal views have nothing to do with Disney or the film crew.
'Mulan' is incomplete. Agree with those who say a lot of dialogue is very bad, tends to make occasional humorous attempts, especially with the most sarcastic and out-of-the-ordinary units, and place too much emphasis on emphasizing characters. 'numbers. Honestly, boldly, and sincerely agree, it didn’t need too much pressure, the point was made very quickly. There are some things in the building that sound strangely interesting on paper, but little has been done about it. Especially with the phoenix, which adds nothing.
Both Xianniang and Bori Khan felt like immature characters. The first one is better because it is fairly confusing and compelling, but the reasons are very strange after that (it is not yet clear where you are), a very good planning tool, and its final state sounds very good. wagijima. Bori Khan has a terrific look but is used enough and everything that is learned about him is his inspiration. He did not like how easily he was defeated and how bad the place looked. All in all the characters would be very deep, Mulan and Zhou were very close characters, and the movie could have done it with more soul.
However, ‘Mulan’ looks beautiful, notable especially for its beautiful historical portraits and the magnificent magnificent land. Apparently inspired by Zhang Yimou's popularity, the image has many colors and atmosphere, and the costume is bright. CGI did not look too extreme, nor did it look shockingly cheap. Harry Gregson-Williams' music is fun and at the same time has a great sense of humor, and he enjoys quoting music from the 1998 film. Niki Caro treats with great confidence.
Personally, I was really impressed with the well-documented and captured imagery. He was there when he needed to panic, especially when he needed to run, and he was there when he needed to be happy. Especially the great war and avalanche. It was easy to feel the strength, pain, and patience needed to get through all this training, only the last race felt ridiculous. The story was incomplete, but it was busy enough, it was culturally interesting, and it was inspired that Mulan was still a powerful character (although, in short, the animation did not develop much or took the character's journey like Mulan. Make a comparison). Although the relationship between father and daughter has been emotionally intense in the past, it is still cunning here.
Besides, imitation was not bad for me. Liu is a confident leader who brings to Mulan the authority and risk that this ideal heroine deserves. Donnie Yen and Jet Li are powerful executives and Jason Scott Lee adds a threat to his underdeveloped role. Tzi Ma's performance speaks volumes about its ideas, which mean nothing more than one. Li Gong looks good in the movie, and although the character himself is not flesh, he is charming in a deceptive and mysterious way. Gong's performance is complex.
As a result, I prepared to hate it, but even though I found it to be very wrong, I loved it very much. 6/10
