The Witches Movie Review

Robert Zemeckis, with the help of Guillermo del Toro, went to pick up Roald Dahl's song, The Witches.

The book was moved to Alabama in 1968. A young boy (Jahzir Bruno) is living with his grandmother (Octavia Spencer) after her parents died in a car accident. You get a pet mouse to make it happy.

One day he was seduced by a witch who offered him chocolate in a store. But his grandmother calls him before he does any damage.

Her grandmother tells her that when she was young her friend was turned into a chicken by a witch. Witches seem to point to black children as no one sees them when they disappear.

The boy is being taken to a hotel by his grandmother to stay by the sea. Unfortunately, the witches held a meeting when the Great Witch (Anne Hathaway) planned to turn all the children into mice.

Blessed with Chris Rock narrative, Anne Hathaway's camp performance, and costly CGI results. This trend is still difficult compared to Nicolas Roeg's 1990 translation.

This can be illustrated by the glamorous character of Stanley Tucci's hotel manager. Once upon a time, Witches wanted to be a black Disneyfied children's film that honored Charlie's Chocolate Factory and blinked. This explains why an obese boy seduced by chocolate bars becomes a mouse because of his greed.
