Ammonite Movie Review
It was the 1840s in Britain. Permanent paleontologist Mary Anning (Kate Winslet) lives with her ailing mother and sells the remains found on rocky shores. He is also well known in London even though one hears that he is often fired. Roderick Murchison came to hire him and learn at his feet. He brought his sick wife Charlotte (Saoirse Ronan) to recover from the sea breeze.
The film was a joke somewhere but I can't remember where it was. It's basically a joke that this movie is just another Victorian lesbian couple trying to be the story. This recurring trope gets boring. Nothing new here. There is nothing wrong with that. There is also no real danger in these two ladies. They do not even allow a maid to raise her temperature. It has two great characters and it looks great. Sadly, it does not add anything to the conversation.
