Locked In Movie Review

Greetings again in the dark. The first film from director Carlos V Gutierrez is a thrilling B-movie game with a rare cinematic setting. Now you may think that metal doors on concrete and concrete walkways do not include a fun and beautiful place to take pictures, and, you would be right. However, Gutierrez uses security cameras and maze-like corridors to create some suspicion, and he benefits from the characters who pull out all the possible contradictions in the text.

Mena Suvari (from Best Photo Wine AMERICAN BEAUTY, 1999) starred as Maggie, a storekeeper, and the mother of the teenage daughter Tarin (Jasper Polish, THE ASTRONAUT FARMER, 2006). The mother and daughter live on a variable income, and they are about to be fired for non-payment. There is a family burden here, as the husband / father is in prison, and Maggie is focused on finding religion to move beyond her past. The last thing he needs is a night like he is about to hear.

Bruno Bichir (Oscar's younger brother nominated by Demian Bichir) plays Lee, Maggie's mastermind who plays a good boy, while appearing very outspoken in keeping his dark secrets. The film opens with a diamond heist tail with two masked men, one with a very active trigger. Of course, two thieves have a tie on Lee, and things go awry quickly. Maggie and Tarin are trapped in a cat-and-mouse game, and they do not initially understand why. A lot of bad guys get into the picture, and Maggie jumps into defensive mother mode while dealing with Ross (Manny Perez) and Mel (Jeff Fahey), the masked men from the diamond gang. Fahey is always a bad person to watch, and this time he is no different. Suddenly, someone else enters the scene - Harris (Costas Mandylor from the "Saw" franchise), creating a more confusing web of deception and danger.

The film relies heavily on crying and sending a strong person, but it also uses security cameras, strong corridors, and candy wrappers. The film succeeds in becoming what it is: fun low-cost art and fun actors.
