Framing Britney Spears Movie Review

An example of the status of television documentaries today.

Produced by The New York Times. This is a subtle tabloid therapy with minimal journalistic reliability. It’s like those clickbait articles on the internet where there is anger based on a few people complaining on Twitter.

The focus here on Britney Spears is on her father’s nature preservation since splitting in 2008. Some Britney fans have launched an online campaign to free her from this.

Today it seems that Britney is seen as a money cow for her father and another appointed lawyer. It must have saddened Britney as her father did not seem to be involved much in her life growing up.

It has all the stories of how Britney who started as a child star gained fame back in the late 90s. How he was forever regarded as an asset to the paparazzi and the media.

There are icky bits. Why do television broadcasters like to ask young girls if they have a boyfriend? Here an elderly television presenter asked 10-year-old Britney if she could be her boyfriend.

Britney was a teenager when she grew up. The documentary makes more sense when viewed through the lens of the #MeToo movement. Different media treatment between Britney and Justin Timberlake after their split. Television broadcasters are directly asking Britney if she was a virgin, something they would never ask for in a young man's pop article. You are constantly being harassed by a male parrot.

There is no doubt that Britney's health declined in 2008 and it seems that her mental state may be weakening.

This was a documentary in which the talking heads were fans and other people who knew Britney once. The main players were absent.
