The Flood Movie Review
Admittedly, I glanced at the film cover only before I sat down to watch it, so I did not really know what I was getting into, as I had never heard of a movie before, nor did I read the captions. I thought it was kind of Western.
It turned out that this was not at all Western. Instead I sat down and watched an Australian historical drama. And now I have not been through much of Australian history, so this was all a new place for me. And from what the movie brought to me about entertainment and the value of entertainment, I think you must have been very familiar with Australian historical and cultural events in order to enjoy the movie to the full.
Sure, "The Flood" was a sight to behold, but it was not a very interesting or impressive film. And, probably because I don’t know Australian history. So I could not relate to the events of the film story, nor did I have the opportunity to know what should be true or based on the actual events, and what was a fictional fantasy.
The acting in the film was great, though I felt that the story and the slow motion of the movie somehow caught the actors in bringing everything they could and deserved.
My “Flood” rating focuses on four out of ten stars. This movie was not really aimed at me as its audience, and I was not swept away, and I could not sink into the story and the events that took place in the story. But I am convinced that writer and director Victoria Wharfe McIntyre has managed to end a movie that will appeal to the masses.
