Of course, I would admit that I was overwhelmed by the cover / poster of the movie, as it had a certain appeal and actually sold the movie enough. And since I had never heard of "What Lies Down" before sitting down to watch it, I had no idea what to expect from author and director Braden R. Duemmler.
However, I was able to endure the ordeal and continue to watch the movie. I have to say that the movie starts out really well and proves to be interesting enough, as the director is able to maintain a good sense of skepticism about the film.
But about halfway through the film the air began to rush out of the balloon, and the movie went down a slippery slope to the bottom, where it never quite recovered.
What started out as interesting and suspicious eventually turned into a confusing pile of nonsense and predictions. And that was a very horrible film.
Acting in a movie was enough, considering the limit placed on them the text and the story. Actor Trey Tucker, starring John, actually played very well and stood out as the most memorable actor in the 2020 film.
With a horror film rather than admitting that “What Lies Down” has just failed at many levels. Author and director Braden R. Duemmler has just failed to present a movie that has found a place in the shocking genre as a memorable film. And as soon as "What Lies Down" gets under the radar, it is a film that will disappear peacefully and unnoticed.
The results in the movie were enough, though. However it is beyond me why container lamps were not widely used and fitted to the movie in a more practical way. They could have added a lot to the whole movie, if they had been released and allowed to do damage.
The ending of the film, however, was interesting. Many thanks to author and director Braden R. Duemmler. This was not the end I had seen coming, and it was the one that surprised me the most. I loved the ending, but I will not ruin it. But it was not enough to close the whole film between the beginning and the end.
