Playing Cupid Review
Nicholas Gonzales and Laura Vandervoort are a beautiful couple, a very attractive couple.
A single father who recently divorced the owner of a restaurant, David Martinez is deeply involved in the life of his daughter Clara ... especially her education. She meets her daughter's school teacher Miss Fox on a very bad night for her. As the owner of Cantina Corazon restaurant, you are a witness to him waiting and parting with his current love interest. He’s very kind and tries to alleviate an unpleasant evening as much as possible. They also reunited at her school where she as an old-fashioned father does not recognize a teacher who supports her daughter's bizarre ideas about a major project that will account for 40% of her grade.
David's daughter came up with a plan to start a reunion service. She starts with her classmates to help them find a Valentine's Day dance partner partner, but has grown it into an adult event at her family restaurant. Clara does everything she does and keeps her grandmother's traditions with the mariachi band and heart-shaped tortillas.
David and Miss Fox traded for help, he made grams of candy for the PTA of which he was president and also volunteered to be his class counselor on this great project. This is what brings the two of them closer together and get to know each other.
This was not your Hallmark love joke, it was a step further and worth seeing.
Now because of a few minor complaints ... since I was a native and raised in Seattle, it kills me to see shows set in "Seattle" which obviously isn't. Why the charade? Just say it's in Langley or Vancouver, B. C. You're not kidding anyone ... at least not anyone from the northwest. One Seattle stock image does not create a Seattle state. And in the grand school awards program, there should have been photos from the real kids project on the big screen behind the stage ... if not the stage examples.
"I'm Cupid Clara dad. I know who's right and who's wrong." - Clara
“I have chosen the seat.” - David.
