Ok ... this wasn't really bad ... AND that's why I knew it would eventually break up and turn into a straight STOOPID! And I was 1000% right about that!
Many reviewers do not see who Otto is ... that was explained by my sister who was initially murdered. The murdered wife dated Otto and designed the house so that she could live with him on the walls STILL MARRIED AND LIVING WITH HER HUSBAND !! That was the first red flag ... did not a husband and wife ever visit a house during construction? Yes they would ... so that secret room would be known from the start. I think my wife would play as a hiding place if they needed to in case the house invaded or whatever!
So Otto lost his temper one time and killed his girlfriend and her husband. And then he just fainted and stayed in the house. That was dumb.
Then at last they try to throw by showing the closet door but that is dumb because Otto is dead. The only thing I can think of is that they make us believe she is the sister of the boy who died earlier but that makes sense. There was no reason for that. They should have finished without "After a month". Then it would be okay. Why do directors feel that they should always make an amazing conclusion? It just ruined everything!
Eventually they all blew up the house in the end. I mean ... that was a little tongue on my cheek like "Eff you listeners! You've just been played by all of us!"
I wish the films could have better endings. I hate when a film is polite everywhere and the ending happens and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Why don't the directors start with the ending and go back? Who cares if the film is right all the way if the director finally stops?
And there is no way Otto would not have appeared on camera. No one was going to stay in the house after they were almost raped by a criminal but they thought they could stop that by the husband saying "Where are you going to stay? Our credit cards have expired." Ok for mom or sister? I know she didn’t love her Mom but times of despair ... and Ashley Graham’s character didn’t know that her sister really wasn’t there but even though she wondered why they hadn’t shown her at least trying to reach her hand. ? And the sister also looked like she was in a high state of decay which means she would have been dead for a while so there would be no bleeding. I thought it was actually Otto in bed and he was going to turn and inject Shawn Ashmore when he got to bed. I think that made a lot of sense to the writers. Why didn't Otto try to bathe, brush his teeth or at least steal his clothes to take his torn ones? There are just so many dull glitter. It is an insult to the ingenuity of the spectators.
I can't say I would recommend this.
