As of today, November 1, 2020, and I think this may be the first non-fake update of this movie. So there are some gravitas in that, I think!
"Incision" is not a bad thing, but it is a scary game that doesn't really live up to its promise, which is terrifying to the body. After the opening of the binding cold, we are introduced to our characters and, as is sadly the case with horror flicks, they are a bunch of intolerable animations. We meet Alexa, the "millionaire" who has millions of fans, her boyfriend Lee who is a football player, Lee's friend Calvin who is one of the record producers, Trinity's music star Calvin who is dating and producing, Calvin's Kenny Hanger. he uses his closeness to Trinity to entice hot girls to have sex with him, as well as Alexa's sister Becca who recently left the health care facility because she was attacked. We spend the first part of the film with these smart people living in big houses and while I think that in order to get care, they just get really annoyed until we ask the film to take them to a crazy surgeon. (Honestly, Caylee Cowen's song 'Becca' is the only character that escapes this fate - she is the only character who has been shown compassion and as a result, we love and care for her).
When Calvin was about to play a trick on Trinity's Trinity song "Trinity", it emerged that Kenny - for reasons not fully explained - took a Mac Book containing one copy of the song and was playing town and somehow got lost. . Becca teaches them how to use the "Find My Mac" feature on iPhone, and they send Kenny to pick it up. Somehow (and unexplained), it ended up in the home of Dr. Gene Cunningham, a plastic surgeon, and his strange family, which includes a good doctor, an elderly woman, his eldest son, and a terrifying child of his own. little son. When Kenny does not return, the others huddle together in the car to look for him. The doctor greets them, holds them all, and promises to "make them all beautiful." But as you might expect, the doctor is certainly insane and his ideas for "beauty" may not be yours ....
The big problem is that "Incision" promises terrible scary but does not. In a movie like this, we are waiting for the extreme pieces of the set. But they are just not there. The doctor promises to do all sorts of horrible things and then ... well, they decide or something happens to avoid it. So even though there are a few "nearby calls", it turns out to be more than a normal mill operation "you run around trying to get out of the evil house" slasher flick. And if you build the characters in an annoying way as they did in this movie, we are in a position to see them treat it badly. And the process and editing are off ... a few times the scene will end, everyone will just look like "stop acting" and the film will just darken a bit. Then we move on to the next scene.
There are some good things, though - the Cunningham family is amazing, and James Allen Brewer is a complete hoot as a crazy plastic surgeon. It is almost worth the entry in itself! And as I said, Caylee Cowen like Becca has given us a character that we should focus on.
Not a bad way to spend 90 minutes, but nothing special. I probably guessed it a little more than it should have been because the Doctor and his family were scared enough to make it a kind of fun.
