Crocodile Island Review
I have to say that I was actually attracted to the cover / poster of the film, and since it is a feature of the magnificent and Chinese creature in that, I just have to sit down and watch "Ju e dao" (aka "Crocodile". Island ") from author Minming Ni.
Well, maybe the thought that came after "Ju e dao" was good in thought, in the air and in the text, but switching to the screen did not make an impressive movie from directors Shixing Xu and Simon Zhao. In fact, the movie was not even in the middle. It was kind of boring writing in fact, as author Minming Ni borrowed less than Jules Verne's novel.
The story was just so familiar and simple that I didn’t care about the characters or the story itself.
The characters in "Ju e dao" were vague and faceless. I had no idea where one character ended up and the next one started, because they had a crazy personality and negative traits that would make them different and attractive. So I did not plant anything in the character gallery in this 2020 movie.
Then came special results. They were special, but not in a good way. It was hard to imagine how such a fragile CGI animation and horrible translated text would come to the fore in 2020. It looked bad, and it took away a lot of fun from the movie. The character of a gargantuan creature means nothing more than having the right CGI and effects to make them more real and believable. Well, they didn't have that in "Ju e dao", believe me.
Well, we're not out of the woods yet. The impersonation of "Ju e dao" was horrible. For the most part he was an amateur, shocking and plural to watch. And that didn't help create an obscure and meaningless gallery of characters.
You may want to save yourself grief and waste for about an hour and a half by skipping "Ju e dao" altogether. It was not just an outstanding, entertaining, or memorable film.
My rating of "Ju e dao" is three out of ten stars.
