The Courier Movie Review
Sometimes, the most unusual people are the most common. Take, for example, the real English businessman Greville Wynne. British Intelligence spoke to the citizen about a bold proposal to act as a courier between MI6 and one of their large undercover assets, a senior GRU Colonel in Soviet Intelligence who had access to confidential information. The director of the BBC "Hallowed Crown" series Dominic Cooke and "The Hitman's Bodyguard" photographer Tom O'Connor wrote Wynne's short work on "The Courier" as an intervention after the Iron Curtain. Note, Greville looked as insignificant as James Bond. With a heavy beard and hopelessness, Wynne had consumed more alcohol than she needed. Plus, he looked so nondescript that you could pass him on the street and never look at him a second time. When MI6 hired him, they were looking for a vague seller who would not attract attention. At first, such a gift pleases Greville, but he thinks twice before accepting it. One of the reasons he changed his mind was that the Soviets might launch their own nuclear weapons in England, and everyone from Greville's wife to his son Andrew would die without enough body parts to justify the coffin. The threat of nuclear disarmament loomed as the sword of Damocles not only in his homeland but also in his family. As it happened, Greville played a key role in the infamous Cuban Cities that included the two great powers — the United States and the Soviet Union — in what could have been a nuclear Armageddon. If you have seen the "Thirteen Days" of Roger Donaldson (2000) and Kevin Costner, this fascinating proverb tells of a political feud between the U.S. President and his wife. John F. Kennedy and the then Prime Minister of the Soviet Union Nikita Khrushchev in October 1962.
Although it prevents the martinis from moving but does not move and opposes the power of karate, "Courier" remains a shocking challenge from start to finish, and filmmakers do not distort historical details as much as possible. This exciting PG-13 never ceases to amaze its 112-minute time. Playing and paying attention to space makes it an excellent addition to some of the British intelligence services in the skin of John Le Carre's best-selling commercials such as "The Spy Who Come in from the Cold" (1965) and "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier.," Spy "(2011). Benedict Cumberbatch, the BBC-TV star of "Sherlock" and "Dr. Strange" in the Marvel / Disney Franchise, starring as the kind Greville, and the role allows Cumberbatch to change his appearance, to make his appearance as a special person. Yes, Wynne is very nervous about her new business. He fears that he will be caught, arrested, and possibly confronted by a group of shooters. Repeatedly, spymaster Dickie Franks (Angus Wright "of Cutthroat Island") and CIA co-ordinator Emily Donovan (Rachel Brosnahan's "Good Creatures") assure him that he will never provoke Soviet suspicions.
Finally, upon meeting his contact with the Soviets, Oleg Penkovsky (Merab Ninidze of "Hostages"), the Russian alleviates Greville's concerns about the kidnapping. Oleg points out to Greville that he is not a technical spy as he will not know the secrets he smuggled from East to West. However, Greville does not agree with Oleg's self-confidence. He is disappointed when he is unable to discuss his after-school activities with his wife, Sheila (Jessie Buckley of "Beast"), and this escalates their domestic conflict. Apparently, Greville made a misunderstanding of the marriage in the past and Sheila also did not solve the problem. Suffice it to say, Sheila suspects Greville is cheating on her again, but this time she is far from Moscow.
Oleg trains Greville about the validity of their public relations. He warns a British dealer that Soviet Intelligence will keep him under constant surveillance. In addition, the KGB will search his hotel rooms, while bellhops and caregivers keep track of his activities. Greville is told that everyone in the Soviet Union acts as the eyes and ears of the KGB. He should never say anything in public because the KGB has lip-reading students, and he should always take his action against Oleg. They attend Soviet cultural events, such as ballet, and Oleg introduces him to his wife and daughter. However, Greville could not join them for dinner because the Soviets barred outsiders from eating in their classrooms. However, Greville welcomed Oleg when he appeared as part of the Soviet trade team in London. He invites Oleg to dine with his family. Finally, a curious KGB spy, Gribanov (Kirill Pirogov of "Dark Planet"), visits Oleg in his office and asks him more about Greville. Oleg reassures Gribanov that Greville is more focused on the economy than on politics. Gribanov admits he has reviewed all of Oleg's reports about Briton.
The change comes when MI6 wants to pull Greville off the field. By this time, Greville had become accustomed to being monitored by the KGB. One day, he learns that Oleg is planning to rebel with his family and move to Montana. Suddenly, MI6 and the CIA show a complete lack of remorse for Oleg's fate. Well, Greville could have abandoned the conspiracy and its dangers, but his friendship with Oleg led him back to Moscow. Greville tells them that Oleg will never abandon him in the field, and he refuses to leave Oleg. This represents a positive change in Greville's attitude, compared to when he feared arrest. "Courier" is a personal story based on real events. No real scare happened in the building until the last half hour. "Courier" is mainly a drama driven by a character. There are no innocent watchdogs who cover up these situations, but the KGB seems to be an inevitable enemy. Finally, "Courier" is gaining momentum because it covers the previous stages of the upcoming Missile Crisis. Signs that Khrushchev wanted to place arrows in Cuba to deal with U.S. missiles in Turkey from Oleg's messages Greville crept back to MI6. Their combined secret operation gave the CIA enough head to prepare for the incident. They change history, and there it puts their value. Indeed, you will be taken in by "The Courier" and its inspiring history.
