Infinitum Subject Unknown Movie Review

Greetings again in the dark. In 2015, the use of director Sean Baker for iPhone to make the film TANGERINE was seen as a test or deception. Since then, other filmmakers have used this approach, even in the face of the epidemic when filmmakers, who wish to create, use the iPhone unnecessarily. Such was the case with Matthew Butler-Hart, who not only used the phone in many forums, but also directed a few cameos remotely via Zoom. Written in collaboration with his wife Tori Butler-Hart, who is also a star, the film makes full use of the empty streets and the absence of other people during the closure.

Ms. Butler-Hart plays the role of Jane, whom we first see when she wakes up alone in the upstairs room of the house. He closes his mouth and is tied to a chair, and he does not remember how he got there. He also has ideas in the blink of an eye - a kind of memory - as he looks for a way to escape. He realizes that he is under surveillance, but after his initial phase of panic, he is really determined to break free. And that's when things get really fun. In GROUNDHOG DAY (1993) or HAPPY DEATH DAY (2017), only with the exception of Sonny and Cher's music or the massacre, Jane wakes up again to find herself back in the same room, in the same chair, alike. obstacles.

Sir Ian McKellan plays the founder of the Wytness Research Center and Conleth Hill ("Game of Thrones") plays the scientist. These two talking heads (recorded by Zoom) give an overview of the Quantum science science that provides Jane's character structure, and give Jane short breaks, from almost every other scene. The Wytness Center holds the key to his status, and we are informed that the work there "pushes human evolution into an amazingly new place." Jane is always focused on solving a puzzle that will allow her to escape the house (mysterious stairs and everything) and track what makes her experience these events so many times. There is a video game that makes sense in this as Jane tries to reach the next level of escape, and is then pushed back to where she starts each failure. Although time is related and the whole universe plays out here, we can't help but realize that Jane seems to lack the food, water, and basic hygiene one might need. That point has little effect on storytelling and context. The Rorschach test comes in some areas, as does the mint VW van. What human beings do not see, although Quantum science has unlimited possibilities.

Ms. Butler-Hart brings strong performance and keeps us interested in her character as she carries the film. Mr. Butler-Hart brings excellent "camera" work, and a very low budget film shows what can be achieved. The closure of the area has caused division and uncertainty for many, and mind games can affect a person’s perception. Butler-Harts has plans to turn this small film into a classic novel and TV series, and it seems "time" is ready for both.

Comes to theaters and VOD on August 6, 2021.
