Concrete Cowboy Movie Review
Who would have thought that the cowboys were to Philly and Black? Concrete Cowboy is a small Netflix drama about 15-year-old Cole (Caleb McLaughlin) who reconnects with his non-resident father, Harp (Idris Elba, also a producer), at an old Philadelphia stable, where a group of cowboys it has their horses and their horses. ownership. Anyone who loves The Rider will find the exciting Concrete Cowboy with horses and people, though Cole is not very advanced in the film to compete with Rider's Brady.
Although the film, based on G's Ghetto Cowboy. Neri (2011), with a lot of offers for the upcoming melodrama formula, the film incorporates enough facts, including real cowboys to play parts, to make an exciting introduction to a culture most of us would never have known. Lenser Minka Farthing-Kohl finds the beauty of photographing beautiful animals in a broken 'hood', especially in sol-mo.
Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is unlike any other, a Philadelphia organization where the film does not apologize for its preaching about a piece of community that has been ignored by structures and society as a whole.
The film goes on a formula with Cole initially rebelling and being transformed into a horse experience, Harp slows down Cole, gnoramuses life threatening cowboy, etc., well, you get the idea. Last but not least is the limited development directed by director Ricky Staub, in which the story progressively reveals the good and the bad guys, and the cowboys will ride.
Like Cole and Harp, the story is about finding peace with our loved ones and the world, both of which can lead us to a place called home. Even though the characters are out of the ordinary, they are good, sometimes talented people who deserve to rest. The fact that they are Black, the urban cowboys is fascinating and in itself is a metaphor for oppressed young people everywhere.
