I do not really agree with people that this movie is on the 1/10. When you go into it you know that there are a lot of funny and mean stories sometimes, and your willingness to accept that and go through it, acting and story is actually really good.
It really could have happened without 100% of the narrative, which is about the first 12.5 minutes of the film and could ruin the ending for some.
I loved Alexandra D'addario for this. The character of Travis Fimmel reminds me a little bit of Mickey from Snatch, which is one of my favorite movies. I never really got in touch with the character of Diego Boneta, who seemed shallow and unrelated. I think Wade Allain-Marcus would have been Ben Gibbon's BEST decision. Diego was not bad, I think he is very good at someone who is said to have been in almost 750 battles. I'm not saying Wade looks corrupt, that he looks incapable of self-control in battle.
If they had removed most of the narrative and reinforced some of the cut scenes, I think this would have been about 7. It seems that from the first glance this is going to be a lot more action, but it has turned into a more romantic story. in the middle. That follows with many stories from Romeo and Juliet.
My wife thinks that, as a love affair, they would at least say why the two characters are in love. I get the bonus of being both "bad" or "rebellious", but that assumption depends on the simplicity of that plot.
