Scott Shaw (Matthew Modine) is looking for his missing daughter Jen on the Appalachian Trail with her friends. The local people in the small town seem indifferent. Six weeks earlier, Jen and her five young friends had a flat tire. They arrived in a small town to begin their journey and then to disembark.
Children are unprepared and annoying. The interest in rooting is slightly less. These characters are becoming more and more popular. One of them has to be overly prepared and the movie can play with it. They just touch it and the girl changes the tire. It can add a scene where the character puts accessories that may be used later in the movie. The first part is a basic horror-in-the-woods film. Letters rather iffy. They're more stupid than they should be. They are introduced as smart little urban dwellers but a few guys are as dumb as movie frat guys. The second part becomes a cult torture horror movie. It is better if the characters stop being dumb. It is very interesting with a few interesting ideas. It does things that are really interesting. As long as the first half is good, this one can be built on.
