In Afghanistan, French journalist Elsa (Diane Kruger) wants to tell the story of Maina, a woman who was sold to a young man. Taliban leader Ahmed Zaief kidnapped Elsa and his colleague Amen. The French president sends six members of the Special Forces to rescue Elsa, who has been transferred to Pakistan. The team is led by Commander Kovax (Djimon Hounsou). They managed to free the journalists, but lost their radio. Without any backup, they have to go all the way back to Afghanistan.
Stéphane Rybojad writes and directs this french action film. It’s good enough as a Rambo action film, but there are too many things that feel bad if this is going to be a reality. There is not much thought in this movie. The action is performed without too much style. And the fact that the group had only one radio station is questionable. Apparently they did this without air support or drones. When they lose one of their radios, they lose their partners. Is it outside of the realm of opportunity? I don't think so. It doesn't sound right.
