Monster Hunter Movie Review
At first I thought this was the familiarity of The Doomfarers of Coramonde, which was a beautiful book with an extremely formula and splendor, but with the same idea: modern soldiers were brought to another world and faced with magical powers. But no, it's a switch from a video game. Still, I had no idea when I was watching the movie, so I was impressed when it started. Too many characters die at the same time for no good reason, people did not act like soldiers, but hell, Milla is tough and beautiful in the fantasy world, why complain?
And indeed the beginning was good: the special effects were good, even if it sounded taken from other franchises and attached here, the fighting scenes were good, the scary scenes were good. I was expecting something really good and I was just looking forward to writing this review. However, then came the part of the film that seemed unrelated: the characters changed the scene, the monsters were different, the new characters appeared with someone who spoke English to change the perfect tone. Then there’s the stupid fighting part at the end, even dumb like nails, and the film ends.
How can you make the most of this? Who writes the story about 8 characters and then kills 7 in a bat? Who brings the other 7 characters into the story and tells them to do nothing? Who is fighting against swords and arrows against a creature that can open a tank like a can of tuna? So if I had to rate this film in sections it would be 8 stars, 6 stars, 2 stars. That conclusion, man ... sucked the balls! It was as if someone had told Anderson that "Hey! Remember this is a video game adaptation so it MUST be bad". But it would be great!
I haven't played a game yet so I think one of the stories is locked in place, but really, how bad could this game be?
