 C.O.R.N Review

Broken down in the Midwest the night before Halloween, my brother and sister (Mateus Ward and Kennedy Tucker) met a local Goth-ish man (Dylan Riley Snyder) and a party in a corn maze. Unfortunately the strange meeting of nearby objects requires their 'artistic' bodies. Roger Cross plays the role of father while Robert Donavan is the co-leader.

"WHEAT." (2021), sometimes titled "A Field of Screams," is a horror-filled Grade B featuring films such as "Freddy vs. Jason" (2003), "Scarecrows" (2017) and "Shadows of the Dead" (2016). With a budget of $ 950,000, it does not have the production quality of "Freddy vs. Jason," but it is almost identical to "Scarecrows" and is higher than the prosaic "Shadows of the Dead."

There is a relaxed style of recording / editing, which makes the first 30 minutes iffy in a moving way. If you can get used to it, however, there is one outstanding enough to do "C. O. R. N." perfect for those who enjoy Indy horror and are in the mood for a game full of Halloween-ish ambiance. The tone is critical, but there is a camp like Vincent Price with cult artists, especially Donavan.

Little beauty Kennedy Tucker as the main character Tia deserves the amount of acceptance. Outstanding female actors include the likes of Audra Schildhouse, Meitar Paz and Elise Spicer, among the peripherals. Author / director (Robin Christian) thankfully knows how to shoot women, no pun intended.

For those who are interested, the term stands for "Collective Order of Recreational Necro-philanthropists."

The film lasts 1 hour, 42 minutes; would have worked better in 72-90 minutes.
