Kandisha Review
A girl who has been abused by her ex-boyfriend calls for an ancient demon to take revenge, but vengeance goes out of control.
An interesting scene that begins in the multiracial society of the French city, in which many cultures are thrown, from graffiti art to inter-racial banter to various American music. Quick dial, so that the subtitles are fully functional during the first action.
Unfortunately, these are scary numbers, with zero psychology, as the terrible curse comes from the past to affect today’s urban dwellers. Everything has been done before for a good result, the model being Candyman, the movie he is referring to. The Demon has some interesting revelations, especially when the hooves come out, but the big set was ruined by the evil plan at 1:09, when poor characters have to DO! Without a doubt built into this event.
The only thing that could have aroused my curiosity was that the last scene was quickly moved on during the second act - now that would be interesting: set a demon to catch a real demon.
The level of production is good, but with such uninspired things I got the impression that everyone involved lost confidence as the inevitable conclusion approached. You may be able to put together a film, but good fear requires a certain soul.
All in all: It starts out strong, but keeps it flat like a corpse jumper in a paved area.
