Reminiscence Review
This is one of those times when my star rating should not reflect the full quality of the film in question. I enjoyed more than a few parts of Reminiscence, a little bit because of the real satisfaction with things or performances and much more because it is not very good but it is absolutely fun despite all that.
This is an honest, clear, ambitious and stupid piece taken from Film Noir only but from I may try to take Noir's jokes (like Sin City when thrown into the hands of a grad student working on visual but still science fiction dissertations) and put them on in a roasting pot where Hugh Jackman looked strong and dejected and angry for two hours, Thandie Newton did very well with anxiety and / or panic while occasionally (which is inexplicable to me) she turned into a bad ass killer, with Rebecca Ferguson as one of the most fascinating Female Fatales. very but very cold on this side of Gene Tierny's ghost.
