No Time To Die Review
James Bond (Daniel Craig) is married to Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux). You have a secret past. He visited Vesper Lynd's grave when Specter attacked. Blofeld says Madeleine is Specter's daughter. Five years have passed. Bond is retired and lives alone. Russian scientist Valdo Obruchev has kidnapped the new baddie Lyutsifer Safin (Rami Malek). MI6 and the CIA have different targets. They both want Obruchev.
This is reportedly going to be Craig's last outing as Bond. This sounds like a lot of James Bond hits a lot. There is a golden hour shot at the end where I can see that this is a really good hour for Craig's Bond. The sun is about to set on his work. Madeleine talking to Mathilde is tired of longing. She tells him about her history. His chapter of the book is done.
As for the film, it opens well. There is a great chase on the narrow streets of the mountainous region of Italy. I love riding a motorcycle. Very easy and very clean. There are no jumpy cuts or motion pictures in the image. Ana de Armas has a wonderful presentation with her “three weeks of training”. I like the repetition of M. I am not particularly interested in Blofeld's conversion to Hannibal Lecter. I would like them to think of something else, something different. Safin is a very weak link. Rami Malek is forced to commit a crime of classic fashion. Bond talks to M and they actually make fun of the new criminal by saying we have the same old evil plans. It would have been much easier if Obruchev was a new villain. He has played M and has his own killing list. His joke to Nomi about killing all black people is so cool and memorable than anything the bad yadayada plot from Safin. Safin's best scenes happen at first without showing his face. A long film and at three o'clock, the gun explodes again and again. It starts to get tired. It would be helpful to cut out one criminal and fix screen time. Good ending friend.
