Night of the Animated Dead Review

Needless to say I just sat down and watched a 2021 animated film titled "Night of the Animated Dead", as I am a huge fan of the zombie genre. And I have to say that the cover / poster for this particular cartoon movie looks interesting.

Now, I had never heard of "Night of the Dead" before watching it, so I wasn't sure if I was in here. But the title should have been dead. Anyway, I sat down and watched it.

And boy it was painful to stay. First of all, the art style used in this animated movie looked like cover art, so that was a slap in the face. What’s worse is that the whole feature looked like something you would see in a Flash animation that was very popular in the 1990s, you know the small segments of the animation you saw online. And with that said, and it looked and sounded like Flash animation, then the art itself sounded like something pulled by a young person.

Then came the story. Of course the story was good, as it was based on George A. Romero's first book "Night of the Living Dead". Well, not based on, but a direct copy of. Yes, this was a story told in "Night of the Living Dead" but in a cartoon way. So there will be some attraction to others, I think. Personally I have found this to be a completely unnecessary task. We already have a few reenactments of the old Romero zombie movie, so this animated movie was ridiculous. Needless to say, the low-tech presentation did not do much to market the project.

The voice acting was good enough, with Josh Duhamel and Will Sasso joining the voice. They are the only two celebrities I knew about yet.

If you are unfamiliar with George A. Romero's great zombie movie "Night of the Living Dead", then you might be embarrassed, but I think a cartoon movie like "Night of the Animated Dead" for 2021 could it's beautiful. enough introduction, because it sets the bar down, and watching movies later will enhance the experience.

My rating of director Jason Axinn's 2021 animation movie is based on three out of ten stars. Sure, I love the story told in "Night of the Living Dead", but this entry into the cartoon money in the business created by Romero was clear and unnecessary, and really amazing to watch.
