Amityville Poltergeist Movie Review
However, a few bells rang when I saw the cover of this 2020 movie, yet I still chose to sit down and watch it. Why? Well, because it was a movie I had never seen before, why not?
And the alarm bells ringing here for the first time and the big mention of the name Amityville. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. Then there was the talk of the poltergeist, who seemed unworthy when set up in Amityville. And then there was a strange creature like Gollum sitting in front of the film cover.
Let me be the first to say that "An Amityville Poltergeist" is a boring film. So walking slowly is tedious and pointless. It was as if writers Calvin Morie McCarthy and Jon Ashley Hall were not even trying to produce something healthy and beneficial.
The history of the story is boring in an inexplicable way. I don't like it when I say there is not a single scary moment in every movie - well, unless you consider being bored in a premature grave as scary. And the writing was just laughter, going to the characters, dialogue and events throughout the fast-paced series of stories.
The cast in "An Amityville Poltergeist" was as good as you would expect from a film like this. But it has to be said that I have seen very bad performance in some films, so at least they were on the right track here. It's just a shame they didn't really have anything to work with in terms of script, dialogue and characters.
Apparently at the time "An Amityville Poltergeist" was just hanging around and missing. There was nothing close to being a proper horror here. The whole film was full of a very different feel of a home-made film project. So don’t expect to sit down to watch a film with the best effects, make-up or props. It's not just about reaching miles of movies.
I left "An Amityville Poltergeist" with only 20 minutes left. But by then I was so tired in my mind that I could not take another moment of abuse and loneliness which is "An Amityville Poltergeist".
Oh, and before I forget, there are no obligations with Amityville at all here, other than earning money by name. As for the presence of poltergeist haunting, no. And that weird-like creature Gollum? No. I don't even know why it actually appeared on the cover of the film.
My rating of Calvin Morie McCarthy’s 2020 film director remains at two out of ten stars. There are some really bad movies out there, believe me. But "An Amityville Poltergeist" is definitely the most distant rival in the list of horror movies. I can not recommend spending your time, money or effort on a movie like this. Some of us suffer from the effects of large or small expansions, so it is not necessary.
