Gatao The Last Stray Movie Review
That love is a key element here that allows Chiang Jui-chich to explore the whole concept of gatao from another perspective, that of criminal women, and how “life” affects their lives. Thus, one of the most interesting aspects of the matter is choosing what Qing has to do on a daily basis, between dedicating himself to his superior and taking care of Chi, the two are very much in conflict, as acting as a criminal does not involve any criminal laws. not harassing “workers” after hours. At the same time, and even though love is portrayed as a wonderful feeling that really elevates people's lives, the fact that danger is basically equal to both when one of the two is a criminal, seems to indicate that such feelings are underground. it is very difficult to maintain. The comments not only stem from Qing's relationship with Chi, but also from Skai and his wife, and the latter has to deal with priorities between being the boss's daughter and the underboss's wife, as the two men's will clash. As such, both Chien Sheng as Skai and Lung Shao-hua as the host presented two very interesting concerts, and the latter presents a cool breakdown of everything he does in a very artistic way.
Moreover, the love aspect is well presented, with Qing winning over the much-loved Chi, and his more secretive smiles which is one of the highlights of Nikki Hsieh's film and performance. Cheng Jen-shuo as Qing is the undisputed star of the film, with his portrayal of a loving boyfriend, a devoted subordinate and a partner, and a violent and convincing enemy of equality. However, a few flaws exist in that aspect, as the role of Chi could have been slightly analyzed, while the area where Qing was drunk would have been better. Generally, however, both their performance and their chemistry are excellent
