Cruella Movie Review
One Hundred and One Dalmatians will never fade from Disney cartoon movies, and the 1996 movie-action remake starring Glenn Close (who is producing this movie) was a sensible entertainment. I may have been hesitant to see this preceding story, which serves as the story of the origin of a notorious criminal, but I gave it a chance, directed by Craig Gillespie (Mr. Woodcock, Fright Night; Me, Tonya). Basically, 5-year-old Estella Miller (Billie Gadsdon) is a smart kid who is passionate about fashion but is cruel, which leads her mother Catherine (Emily Beecham) to name her "Cruella". As a result of Estella's rebellion, Catherine is dragging her 12-year-old daughter (Tipper Seifert-Cleveland) into school and plans to move to London. On the way there, Catherine stops at a party organized by wealthy Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson) to ask for financial help. Estella sneaks into the party and is thrilled to see the magnificent costumes presented. He then saw his mother being pushed off a cliff and killed by the cruel Baronesses of the Dalmatians. Orphaned, Estella travels to London and becomes acquainted with two street urchins named Jasper (Joel Fry yesterday) and Horace (Richard Jewell's Paul Walter Hauser). To avoid attracting attention, she dyes her hair black and white. Ten years later, Estella (Emma Stone), Jasper and Horace make a living nearby, while Estella hone her fashion skills by designing their own concealer. On his birthday, Jasper and Horace got him a cleaning job at the Liberty department store. The drunken Estella redesigned one of the displays in the store window, which impresses the Baroness presenter is impressed and gets a job. Baroness is a well-known but authoritative haute couture designer, but Estella gains confidence. However, things changed when Estella saw Baroness wearing a necklace that belonged to Catherine. Baroness says the necklace was stolen by an employee, and Estella wants Jasper and Horace to steal it. Under Cruella's hideout, with her natural hair color, she crashes into a party, while Jasper and Horace steal the necklace. When they meet, Estella sees Baroness using a whistle to instruct her Dalmatians, and she realizes that they were called to kill Catherine. Seeking revenge for her mother's death, Estella taunts Baroness for appearing in her circles and promoting her as a Cruella in elaborate costumes, designed with the help of an old-fashioned clothing store owner named Artie (John McCrea). Her antics get the attention of the media, including the portrayal of her childhood friend Anita "Tattletale" Darling (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), a gossip writer. Cruella's demeaning behavior and arrogance increasingly angered Jasper and Horace, as well as Baroness, who fired his lawyer Roger (Kayvan Novak) for failing to stop Cruella. Estella next captures the Baroness' Dalmatians after one of them accidentally swallowed her mother's necklace. Estella destroys the Baroness spring collection show and organizes her own show at Regent's Park. After discovering that Cruella is Estella, Baroness arrested Jasper and Horace and arrested him, leaving him thinking he was dead in the fire. Estella is saved by Baroness' valet John (Mark Strong), who reveals the necklace is the key to the box containing Estella's birth records. It has been revealed that Baroness is Estella's mother and ordered John that the baby Estella be killed so that she could focus only on her work. John instead gave the baby Catherine, one of Baroness's maids, who secretly raised Estella. Estella is upset with Catherine's deception but eventually makes peace with the truth in order to complete her revenge, using the name Cruella permanently. Cruella breaks Jasper and Horace in jail, seducing them and Artie with his final plan. They sneak into Baroness' garage, where Cruella, dressed as Estella, meets him. Guests at the party are told that Baroness wants to meet outside, while Cruella reveals to Baroness that she is his abandoned daughter. Baroness pretends to show remorse for his action and asks for a kiss before pushing him down the cliff, unaware that guests are watching. Cruella survived the fall using a parachute built into her dress and discarded Estella's concealment before returning to see Baroness arrested. After accepting the surname de Vil, inspired by the stolen car Panther De Ville, Cruella inherits Hellman Hall, abbreviating the name Hell Hall, as its proper biological heir. Before the end, two Dalmatian puppies named Pongo and Perdita were introduced to Roger and Anita respectively. Now working as a songwriter, Roger begins composing the song "Cruella de Vil". He also played Jamie Demetriou as Gerald and Tom Turner as The Baron. Stone is beautiful as an anti-hero, ranging from being an innocent fashionista to the iconic limelight stolen icon, and Thompson proves more than a metaphor like a real villain fashion designer. The film is reminiscent of Ugly Betty TV series, with its style, sarcasm and hatred in the fashion industry, with a fast-paced, captivating take on the 70s punk-era Britain, a little darker at times, but still funny family entertainment at heart, I was pleasantly surprised. , an exciting criminal joke. Very good!
