The Long Island Serial Killer Review

"I'm starting to think there's a hiding place." Oh Lifetime Movie Network, you are killing me! He really does.

However, in The Long Island Serial Killer: Mother Hunting for Justice, the killer in question has never really been established. I mean I had an idea (or ideas) but the type of film left me hanging like a loose ending.

"Long Island" plays a veteran actor and native Philly, Kim Delaney. She looks a little different than I remember as she removes her white locks for a long time, similar to unwashed white ones. Delaney plays an alcoholic, a smoker whose mother is Mari Gilbert. His performance is straightforward and immature and probably the best thing in life — like "Long Island".

Based on real events, directed by Stanley M. Brooks, and feels like a piece of Law & Order removing title cards (a bad guy even looks like Vincent D'Onofrio), The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother's Hunt for Justice writes Mari Gilbert (Delaney) aged in the middle. After her prostitute daughter went missing and was pronounced dead, Mari vows to find out who killed her daughter. The suspect may have been a serial killer in the Long Island area (or a crooked rozzer on a power trip, who knows).

"Long Island" with its limited purpose, is not shocking, compelling, or strange as many lifelong endeavors. An unusual self-portrait film, full of blurred characters that fade in and out and are always fully explained. Flick is organized in a way that combines multiple crime dramas and I love that. However, "Long Island" feels a little unfinished as its effect is described in detail only following a series of stages, closing credits. It’s a misconception that even though it flows and is solid, it doesn’t do the viewer “justice”.
