 V/H/S/94 Review

Team S. W. A. T. drug addict has acquired the headquarters of a weird video program whose fans thrive on extremes. As the team investigates the building, viewers are treated to a wide range of stories available on many of the program's TV screens.

First is Storm Drain by author / director Chloe Okuno, in which Channel 6 journalist Holly Marciano (Anna Hopkins) and her co-photographer Jeff (Christian Potenza) investigate the story of Ratman, a strange, half-man -half-rat, which reportedly lives on ropes (where else?). While not a very strong case to start the trial, Storm Drain brings a few incidents of plagiarism and skepticism, though the last incident is what people will most remember: after being rescued from the roadside, Holly returns to Ch 6 to introduce her. a news show, but he cleanses the hurtful thing from his boss, whose face disintegrates into a bloody filth. It’s a huge benefit and sets the tone throughout the film. It will be ruined ...

The second story is The Empty Wake, written and directed by Simon Barrett; sees a young woman, Hayley (Kyal Legend), left alone in a funeral home to perform a vigil. As time goes on, waiting for guests not to arrive, he hears noises inside the box, so he calls his colleague Tim to advise him: tell him to shut up ... the man is definitely dead (his head was cracked, which is why the box is closed), and just gases in the body make noises. Yes, Tim does all the wrong things - when the lights go out in a storm, the box opens, and the metal body staggers behind Hayley. With half of its head missing, the amputated hand crawling on its own, and the guts that will not stay, the ‘zombie’ offers blood, but the spirit that really sells the story: after all, is there another place you can spend the night than the funeral home?

The third story, Title, by Timo Tjahjanto, a director who rarely impresses me, and this is certainly my easy favorite in the band. Tjahanto, an expert on the nature of the action, combines the horrors of cyberpunk / body with a lot of firepower, following the crack police unit breaking into the laboratory of insane scientist Dr. James Suhendra, who kidnapped people and made cyborgs. The splatter begins when Suhendra operates on a man and a woman, removing the brain and limbs, but kicking a few gears when the police arrive, finding themselves trapped in a building due to the nature of a mad doctor. The man is scheduled to kill, and, armed with a large knife, cuts off anyone who can reach the arm. A woman just wants to live, so she attacks anyone who threatens her, and she just has a machine gun / bomb attachment!

The final story, Terror, written and directed by Ryan Prows, focuses on the activities of an armed terrorist group called the First Patriots Movement Militia, who plotted to blow up a state building using a creature locked in a cage, the nature of which remains unknown until the end of the story. Sadly, waiting is not really worth it, this becomes the weakest of the four issues; indeed it should have been the first, so that the film did not end with such a damp squib. Perhaps if the wrapped story were strong, it would not matter so much, but one will not be able to control it and be left disappointed as the credits continue.

However, three of the four main issues are the winners, which equals 7.5 / 10, which I will add up to 8/10 when the girl-borg machine gun lowers the man's head to pulp.
